Senior Week
For Senior Week I received the pleasure of interviewing Alicia aka Endorell-Taelos, founder of the group SeniorSelections.
1. What is the purpose of your group SeniorSelections?
SeniorSelections stands to feature premier artwork from the deviantART community through weekly features from each gallery category.
2. When did you decide to start the group and what made you decide to start the group?
I decided to create the project itself after talking about the project proposal idea with fellow seniors in the Seniors Forum but it wasn't until shortly before April 18th that I had decided to create a group for the project, much easier to manage than a regular user account.
3. How are the selections chosen for each feature?
Every week a thread goes up in the Staff Area of the group and each of the Feature Team Administrators leaves their chosen selections to feature. It would stay up for a week before all selections are gathered up and put in the article ready to be published. We have a rotation schedule of the whole deviantART gallery category tree, so the articles do not get clogged up with too many features.
So far, it goes like this:
- Fan Art, Artisan Crafts, Designs & Interfaces, Traditional Art, Resources & Stock
- Manga & Anime, Body Art & Modification, deviantART Related, Digital Art, Film & Animation
- 3-Dimensional Art, Anthro, Cosplay, Flash, Literature
- Comics & Cartoons, Customization, Photography, Space & Science Fiction Art, Text & Typography
We also accept suggestions for features from the community!
4. Can anyone become a member of the group or is it for Senior Members only?
Everyone can be a member of the group, however only Senior Members can be administrators.
5. How can Seniors help out with the group?
Well there is the option of becoming an Feature Team admin! Our information of how to apply is here or you can always promote us and bring in suggestions! We definitely welcome them!

1. What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Alicia and I am from the land down under! Australia!
2.How long have you been a member of dA? When did you become a Senior Member?
7 years officially on this account but perhaps more on others! This isn’t my first account actually.
I became a Senior Member in April 2011. 3.What art genre(s) do you specialize in?
I do a little bit of everything! But mostly it’s photomanipulation and literature.
And a bit of Artisan Craft, I am actually taking on a big project at the moment to make a patchwork quilt. 4. What do you love most about dA and what do you love most about being a Senior Member?
What I love most is the sense of community, even though sometimes it doesn’t seem like there is any because deviantART is so big. There is always a place to find your place and circle of friends. DeviantART is a great place to make friends and learn more about art and help you become better at it. Hmmm, I don’t know about what I love being most about being a Senior Member, I mean it’s not really any different from being a normal member without the medal. But the whole experience is fantastic. DeviantART helped me grow as a writer and an artist.
5. Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I think everyone knows it but I really love the colour purple and I love Symphonic Metal.

1. If you could spend a day with Fella (dA’s mascot), what would you do?
Well I have Fella as a plushie but all he does is sit around on my lounge doing nothing but stare off into space. O_o I don’t really play around with him much.
